OUR SUPPORTERS

Working together to collect new socks for Ottawa's homeless.

Let's take a moment to think about socks.

People don't often think of socks - a toe pokes through or a mate gets lost and a sock is simply tossed. Socks are cheap and easily replaced, unless you live on the street. For homeless people these bits of clothing are like gold. Clean dry socks are vital to keep feet warm and to prevent frostbite and infection. That small bit of comfort can mean so much on a cold winter's day.

The Shepherds of Good Hope is dedicated to serving the needs of the poor and homeless in Ottawa. Warm, dry socks are always in demand - for their emergency shelter, soup kitchen, food bank and clothing program.

Socks from Santa is a small community project collecting new socks in support of the Shepherds of Good Hope.  Join us to help keep Ottawa's homeless population on its feet through our long cold winter and reach our goal of 1000 pairs of new socks!
